Tang: It honestly started from pure passion. Since my student years, I often had opportunities to serve as an MC, and I gradually realized how much I enjoyed communicating on stage.

 

As for interpreting, it began when I helped translate for my university. That experience allowed me to use language in real-life situations and made me see how powerful language can be in connecting people. From that point on, both roles naturally grew together and became my professional path.

 

 

Tang: Because I want to be a bridge.

For me, this job is not just about translating words it’s about helping people who speak different languages truly understand each other, communicate smoothly, and feel like they are sharing the same space, even when they speak different languages.

Inspiration & Working Philosophy

 

Tang: It’s the power of words to create atmosphere.

Seeing people feel engaged, joyful, and emotionally connected makes me realize every time that our voice can genuinely bring happiness to others. That feeling is what keeps me loving this profession.

 

Tang: My main goal is to meet the host’s needs as fully as possible and to make the event both “right and satisfying at the same time.”

For corporate events, “right” means accurate wording, correct information, and clear communication to avoid misunderstandings and maintain the event’s image.

For weddings, “right” means respecting correct procedures and traditions, introducing the couple appropriately, and truly understanding what the couple wants so the celebration feels warm, personal, and authentic to who they are.

 

Tang: This is the heart of my work especially for the couple. A wedding is one of the most important days of their lives. My role is not only to create a good atmosphere, but to help the couple feel relaxed, reassured, and genuinely happy.

 

Many couples worry that guests from another culture may not understand the ceremony. I step in as the communicator bridging understanding so everyone can enjoy the celebration together. For international guests, I explain Thai traditions appropriately while also respecting and learning about their culture, so the entire event feels warm, smooth, and comfortable for everyone.

 

 

 

Tang: A wedding MC definitely does more than just speak.

Most importantly, I strive to be a safe and reassuring presence for the couple.

Knowing that “someone is here taking care of everything” allows them to fully focus on their happiness without worrying about the details.

 

Tang: It starts with clear communication making sure the couple and all teams understand the ceremony flow from the beginning.

If there is an auspicious time involved, I pay close attention to timing, allocating moments properly so no one feels rushed or pressured, and the atmosphere remains pleasant. On the wedding day, everyone is one team makeup artists, MCs, coordinators, photographers, and the venue staff.

 

The goal isn’t just punctuality, but creating a warm, successful celebration that becomes a joyful memory for everyone.

 

 

 

Tang: Ensuring both sides truly understand each other.

Using the second language accurately and appropriately is crucial sometimes even a small pronunciation mistake can change the meaning and the mood of the entire event.

 

Tang: I focus on the core message, while carefully listening to tone, emotion, and context. Whether it’s parents giving blessings, the couple expressing gratitude, or friends sharing memories each moment carries a different emotional weight. Tone of voice in interpretation is extremely important, because it helps listeners feel like they are part of the same conversation, even across languages and cultures.

 

Tang: Cultural differences are key. “Chinese weddings” are very diverse—Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore—each has its own traditions. I always ask about the family’s background to ensure both cultures are respected and blended appropriately.

 

For example, the tea ceremony in Mainland China is called 改口仪式, which carries deep meaning about changing how parents are addressed. Some families also include Yum Seng celebrations. I always confirm these details with the couple beforehand.

 

 

 

Tang: At the beginning, it was very challenging managing the ceremony, timing, and real-time interpretation simultaneously. But with experience and deeper understanding of ceremonies, language, and wedding dynamics, both roles now blend together naturally.

 

Tang: There are many, but one moment stands out.

After a bilingual wedding, the bride’s mother hugged me and said, “At first I thought it was expensive—but it really wasn’t.” That simple sentence meant everything to me and remains unforgettable.

 

 

 

Because the role of a bilingual MC is to connect languages, cultures, and traditions—so everyone can truly understand and participate in one of life’s most meaningful moments.
